What is your favorite wine?
My favorite wine is Pinot Grigio. If you enjoy a dry white wine, this is better then Chardonnay.

2. Black Cat wine, from Germany
It's called Schwarzkatze, and it's a nice mildly-sweet white wine.

25. Mmmm German (style?) wine is my fave too.....
But Stone Hill
http://www.stonehillwinery.com/cms_engine/index.php?sys_site_guid=1b1acfb2-99cd-ef1b-7ad6-9decf6920e45

and Hermannhof- http://www.hermannhof.com/

are my picks, great Missouri German wines!

Vignoles, is near the top pick, but Late Harvest Vignoles IS nector of the gods! Main wine is Hermannhof White Lady.

Talk of food and wine- I should go home now to eat and drink!

26. That's the first wine I ever had
Thanksgiving Day 1976. A family friend brought 5 bottles of it over, and I got to try a half glass with dinner (I was 9), and my 13 year old sister got wasted for the first time, much to our amusement (not so much to get sick, but pretty flaky and funny)... I remember liking it, even though I had never wine before. If I come across any, I will have to try it again.

I bought a few botttles, a bit costly for me, but quite good. I also like Toasted Head Chardonnay, good balance of taste and budget

6. Savannah-Chanelle, Cabernet Franc or Chardonnay

Savannah-Chanelle is a relatively small Santa Cruz Mountains winery about 25 minutes from my place. They make excellent wines and don't jack the prices up nearly as much as some wineries.

9. Cheap red.
There actually is a brand called Cheap Red, and it's all right.

Anything in the $7 range is usually okay by me.

And I almost always enjoy an $11 cabernet, on special occasions.

And I also enjoy Spanish Rioja wines, both white and red, and any Pinot Noir fromm Oregon.

Bin 50 Syrahs from Australia are good, and for good cheap wine, any Chilean Cab or Merlot will do.

On edit: the wine listed in my subject heading is from WA state, a damn good wine-producing region.

Awesome Pino Noir from Washington State called Argle. It's about $15/bottle.

Also a Pino Grigio from Venezie. :D :9'

And I agree that Oregon makes the best Pinot Noirs...

Never heard of the one in WA (Yakima Valley is their best wine region).

I happen to think NC makes the best Voigniers.

23. Mostly cabs and merlots
But also whites like gewurztraminers, chardonnays, pinot grigios, semillons, sauvignon blancs, and now even the latest popular red, syrahs. The climate is similar to France's wine regions, so a wide variety of grapes are successfully fermented.

Those are my two faves.

34. Gewürztraminer
...especially if it is genuine, from Alsace. However, there are some nice American versions as well. Columbia Crest and Fetzer both make decent ones for less than $10 a bottle. I tried the Sutter Home but found it too sweet to have with a meal, though it would have been good with desert. :)
