Poll question: Are You Any Good At Remembering Names?
Even if I use the old trick of repeating the person's name ("Hello, MARY, it's good to meet you MARY.")... I'm likely to end up forgetting their name.

After the third time of being embarrassed that I've forgotten (yet again) the neurons make a permanent connection in my brain and I'll finally remember. --- When I was in the situation of having forgotten someone's name, I used to try and fake-it and hope that I'd eventually remember, or that I'd hear someone else use the forgotten name. But now, I just 'fess up and admit right out "I'm sorry, but I can't remember your name." (Most folks are nice about it and nobody seems offended.)

I tend to do better with remember a name if I only have to meet one or two new people at a time... but if it's a large gathering with MANY new faces, then I might as well forget about even trying.

3. I'm awful
I don't even remember the names of my neighbors.

I remember the names of children usually. Then the parents become, "Isaac's Mom" or something.

4. What I'm really bad about
is I'll see someone that looks familiar and I can't place where I've seen them before so they'll say hi, how are you etc. and I'll stand there like an idiot with that quizical look on my face. I wish I was better at hiding it so I could at least get through the interaction but nooooo my face scrunches all up to reflect the inner workings of the little neurons running around to each other, checking in filecabinets and under tables, yelling nothin! I got nothin!

Then twenty minutes later when I'm not thinking about it OH YEAH the guy from the mexican restaurant that's always so nice or OH YEAH the lady that used to work TWO cubicles down from me.

Once I can place where I know them from the name comes easily.

Pathetic.

5. I even call my kids by the dogs names
It isn't age because I've always been this way. I can remember all kinds of things, (there job, a joke they told, where we met, their birthday...) about a person but their name will elude me.

6. I remember people's pets' names, but not theirs.
It's like, "oh, yeah, you're Sasha's dad" or something like that. Sasha would be his rottie mix dog.

11. I am horrible about remembering names...
and i got a new job at a day care center, which really has been good for me to practice "remembering". Luckily, the kids don't seem to care if i have to keep asking them "what's your name?"

I am also bad with faces....i could meet someone and by the next day i wouldn't be able to pick them out of a crowd of people. And i am always running into acquaintances and small talking with them and then later trying to figure out where the hell i know them from.

12.  I call a lot of people sweetie.
And since I'm a girl, and some would say cute, I have no trouble with that.
