15. actually compared to most men he did... the inaugural stuff is a common
mistake made, but he was the definative stylemaker for middle american men. before him only a few trendy hollywood types would go hatless. but he was in the vanguard and respectable. . remember at this point, women were still wearing gloves and hats. But he was supposed to be a classy guy, and people figured if he wore a suit w/ not hat, so could they.
