Like GS pointed out above, I wouldn't go after Sean Hannity or O'Lielly... OK, pretty superficial. But I've been happily married for nearly 15 years, so I'm not sweating it; I'm a long-term kinda gal...

5. The guy I prefer doesn't exist. That's why I'll always be alone.
I just want someone who:

1. Is not addicted to sports (I will not be a widow, like ALL of my married female friends are during various seasons) or other drugs.

2. Is a good listener and a good hugger.

3. Is very interested in kinky sex and will not think I'm weird or perverted for MY interests.

4. I will not have to pick up after like a kid.

5. I can trust not to cheat on me.

6. Is liberal and open-minded.

7. Is physically large and "tough" enough to make me feel secure (I know that's not a particularly feminist notion, but I *need* to feel like my guy can kick some ass.)

He doesn't exist.

23. Hmm...
What do you mean by addicted? Because I like watching sports sometimes to unwind, but I would prefer to actually GO to the game, which means I'd take people with me.

That kind of guy is out there. Not too hard to find, either, really. The hard part is finding one who isn't convinced the whole world is against hem and life is but a sham.

30. Sounds like we like the same type.
Although I think human beings are inherently too complex to be narrowly and one-dimensionally defined as to the level of the original poll, you seem to have similar taste. I'd also add in addition to no drugs, no smoking and little or no alcohol as well as a very strong intellect. There are men out there who fit many of these qualities. Don't give up hope. :)

...he tends to pick up after me. He vacuums and does the laundry and changes dirty diapers and washes dishes. He's not the most confident handyman, but sometimes it's better to have a man who understands that some jobs are better left to professionals.

I seriously don't know how I got so lucky.

I'd like to travel the world but thats almost out of the question. (war, people hating Americans,no passport etc)
because i love to travel and go to new places,in these times you do that by protesting and seeing other groovy people. and scream and yell its like a huge party traveling and trying to get people to hear your words of truth. I'd love to be a part of that. :hippie:

31. WOW! I'd totally be adored by many of you! I have long dark hair
(down to the middle of my fairly cute ass), Have a beard/goatee most of the time, I make didgeridoos (out of wood not pvc) and I play all kinds of instruments. Im large and strong, can wax poetic about almost anything that suits me, while cackling with laughter at my horrible prose. Im also a gourmand and can cook virtually anything well enough to make you think you were at a 4 star restaurant. Im also quite capable of hunting, fishing and foraging many meals from the forest!! Im sensitive and a devout pacifist, and am quite adept at peacemaking and or avoiding fights altogether... Only two things to put anyone off Im a bit overweight and married!! hehe...

Thanks though I feel really good about myself now, as I was sure that I must be the least appealing man out there these days, with my rugged mt man hippie hunter pacifist routine.

I already know you're tall, good looking and very intelligent, but add to that that you seem more the quiet type, a non-druggie and non-jock, that well, if I didn't already have a strong interest in someone else already, I'd be hitting on you like crazy. There's your ego boost for the day anyway, but it's the truth. :)

34. Now that I'm getting older
my priorities have changed. I used to want an older man, but now I want them younger--35-45 is cool.

They should be easy to look at, with a keen sensitivity to world events, not miserly, compassionate, have the best sense of humor, and someone who is gentle and caring with animals.

Someone who works, doesn't drink heavily, doesn't smoke, and is intelligent. Someone who would send flowers to me "just because" and who is spontaneous enough to decide on a Thursday night that we're going away for the weekend someplace nice, even if it's only a few towns over in a B&B.

Someone who doesn't scoff at my choices in film, TV, books or other hobbies, and who would encourage me to pursue my goals, but would also understand if I wasn't up to doing something.

I know, I know; "he" doesn't exist. But I can dream, can't I?

The few times in my life I've run into this combination, I've swooned. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find one that isn't attached.

Note: An intelligent conversation with a man makes me horny. I've only known a few intelligent men because my town is full of "morans." When I was in college, I used to harass the professors constantly, wanting to engage in conversation. Now I think I know why. :D

Another note: Why are guys on DU so much smarter than the guys I run into on a regular basis. I mean, you guys are fucking rocket scientists compared to 99% of the men I've met in my life. Seriously.

Someone who has a quirky and extremely intelligent sense of humor, knows how to be masculine without being macho, isn't afraid to be seen at a cultural event, and doesn't pull stupid tantrum/sulking tricks is my kind of guy.

Unfortunately, this type seems to marry very young and stay that way.

71. Brains, and a good conversationalist.
That's the minimum right there. If we can't have a decent conversation about interesting things, politics or books or movies or music or something ... then it ain't goin no where, no how.

72. I prefer a man
who is honest, has a good sense of humor, enjoys many of the things I enjoy (but also has his own interests), loves kids, isn't afraid to laugh at himself, is trustworthy, and who loves with his whole heart.

Luckily for me, I married that man.

73. Who picked the computer geeks?
To those ladies: I'm a computer geek. Trust me--you don't want to get involved with us. :P

76. What about the "intense, passionate guy?"
Women like passion too, you know!!! Actually, for me it would be a combo of the comedian guy, the musician guy, and the book worm. Throw in some sensitivity, passion, caring, and consideration and you've got a winner! Unfortunately, I haven't the slightest clue where to find such a guy.
