1. I've been up working on this damned Oliver Twist project
I powernapped when I got home from school because I anticipated that I would procrastinate my procrastination and start my work during the wee hours of the last day I had to work on it.

And I was right.... and those hours of sleep are really helping me get through it.

2. Hrm. Couldn't you have napped for me too??
I've slept 6 hours in the past 48 so I'm a little loopy.

Are you finished with your project?

3. Nope! :)
I still have about 90 minutes left before I have to hit the shower, though. I can get the bare minimum done by then.

If my parents feel sympathetic, they might call me out of the first two periods of the day and let me spice the project up a little bit. The other nice thing about that is I would make the other two people in my group tear their hair out because I have EVERYTHING (binder + movie) and the project is absolutely, no ifs ands or buts due third hour today.

6. What a predicament!
:) I say, skip the first two and do something exciting to flip out the others involved. :D It's a win-win situation.

9. They'd deserve it
It feels like I carried the whole load for this project. Oh well.

One of them has a semi-excuse: she couldn't work because she had a sinus infection and her eyes swelled shut :-/. But we were supposed to work a couple days before it hit her, and we never did because she decided it would be better to go out instead :eyes:

11. Man, I used to hate that!
I would get sooo pissed off whenever I did the majority of the projects. Sometimes, of course, I wouldn't mind because I knew I could do parts of it better than the others. :D hehe

Her eyes swelled shut?? Ouch.

Yeah, it was still pretty bad today.
I feel kind of bad because I got really, really pissed off at her Sunday night (and Saturday too) for blowing off working on the project. It wasn't apparent to me how serious the swelling was.

But man... I can't believe her parents forced her to go to school like that.

16. That does suck.
But her eye doesn't affect her ability to do other types of work. If she couldn't read or things like that, she could've volunteered in other ways. Anyway! Good luck!

4. Grateful Dead playing full blast in my classroom...
What a reat way to start the school day. The kids would think differently, but they won't start arriving for 45 minutes or so.

Good morning to all from a 64 clear degrees dawn in Florida.

What age group of kids?

And I wish East TN would see 64 degrees! We're working with 48 at the moment.

12. Fifth grade, 10 and 11 years
Although sometimes they seem like five-year-olds and other times they seem like they're thirteen.

48 degrees is pretty warm for this time of year in Tennessee, it seems to me.

Well, almost teens. How does that work for ya?

I think we're actually getting a little lucky today. The temp. isn't in the lower 30s like it's been recently. But then again, we get the rain instead. :eyes:

27. I'm in early...
...but I'm out the door five minutes after the kids. Of course, I spend some time at home on grading and parent/student communication, but I am at home.

Seniors. After being cooped up with the snot-nosed set, seniors would seem like adults to me.

29. I'm early too and GOOD MORNING!
Hope I wasn't too loud there, but it is time to get started, if you are on the east coast. Teaching is my profession as well. This morning was a cold start (36 degrees) and I have two students who will be arriving shortly for extra help. BTW, I teach high school German, levels 1- 4 and World History.

:hi:

8. Greetings from the West Coast
We're still wide awake here. It's 3:20am and our friendly neighborhood watering hole just closed, so I'm trying to kick these people out of my house so I can peacefully (drunkenly?) catch up on DU news myself...

Have a brilliant day.

36. OMG!
5 hours? Are you wearing tights and a big red cape with a large "S" on it? You just don't slow down, do you? But, you can do eeet! :)

The weekend was semi-quiet. I watched my college team (Ga. Tech) lose to their cross-state rivals on Sat. At least UGA didn't beat the point spread. The final was 19-13, I'll bet the spread was at least 10 pts. Our quarterback's starting slot is definitely in danger next season.

Did you get to eat much turkey?

38. Thanks for the info
I'm sorry that I didn't bet on the game. (I'd have bet that UGA wouldn't beat the spread.) After the pounding GT took from UVA, I knew that they'd be up to go after UGA.
