7. It is totally photoshopped
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 01:31 PM by Worst Username Ever
But still funny. The TV is clearly not original adn does not match the shading of the rest of the pic, and the printer is made of plastic and push buttons where the other portion is all switches and knobs, for starters.

27. The FORTRAN reference gives it away
FYI, Fortran wasn't actually finished until '57 or '58. In '54 the foundations of Fortran were just being laid, and IBM hadn't even mentioned it publically.

The "keyboard" is actually an old 70's era teletype terminal...HP by the looks of it (we still have one in our datacenter storeroom...right next to the punchcard reader parts for our old Borroughs mainframe).

I have no clue about that steering wheel though.

11. I wonder what the big steering wheel is for?
What a pic. But what year was this taken? Trying to figure it out from the suit of clothes and the teletype machine...Late 60's? early 70's?

12. This photo seems to be photoshopped..
The teletype we see there is not contemporary with the rest of the picture.

Also, what we are looking at on the wall is an powerplant control system of some sort.

The large wheel would actually have controlled a main steam valve.
