So...do Jewish men make good boyfriends & lovers?

Am going out with a Jewish guy for the first time. Know nothing about them, really. I haven't even ever heard anything about them in the romance department.

Jewish men kick ass as boyfriends/lovers. I love a good stereotype when it helps a nice guy out with his love life.

I dated a Jewish man who made a great boyfriend. I loved him. It's unfortunate that things didn't work out in the end, but he was definitely my favorite boyfriend (excluding my husband, of course).

However, I don't know about any other Jewish men as boyfriends. I only dated the one guy. Whether or not your new boyfriend makes a good boyfriend remains to be seen. Jewish men, like all other men, are individuals.

Although people can convert to Judaism, that is not the case with this guy. He's Hebrew/semitic - whatever you call it. We commonly refer to it as Jewish.

Sorry. I didn't view that as a bigoted or racist question. Many cultural groups have traits that are particular to that culture. It is not discriminatory to notice that, IMO. It is neither bad nor good. It just is.

I'm of French heritage. There are certain cultural stereotypes that go along with being French, although less applicable to American Frenchies, since we are a much less cohesive and pure cultural/country group than the Jewish are.

No offense intended, though. One could easily ask the same thing about Italians, French, Latinos, etc.

A friend of mine said that Ken Lay is also Jewish...is this true?

He did donate tons of money for the 40 acre Dell Jewish Center (and land is not cheap in that part of town). He and his wife Susan also have the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation charity www.msdf.org which recently made a $25 million dollar donation to the new Children's Medical Center of Texas. I don't know if his wife Susan is Jewish or not. Ken Lay I did search for on www.jewhoo.com and no results came up. If you haven't been to that site before, check it out. I find it interesting to see just who is and who isn't Jewish, plus learn a little something about them. My point from all this is just to stick up for Michael a little. Yes he is a huge republican donor, but he does do good in other places. If only more republicans were like him.

The first lover I had was Jewish and personality wise we didn't mesh (and were too young to get too serious), but I would have to say, sexually speaking (so far in my life anyway), he was really good.

Gosh I hope its not racist or bigoted to discuss observable characteristics of different cultures. Some cultures accord women more equality, some less. Some cut off their clitorises so they can't have orgasms.

"Jewish" is a very non-specific description, it does not really identify the particular culture, depends on many factors such as whether ashkenazi or sepphardic and even then, cultural traits are affected by where they spent the diaspora, as it were, or when emigrated to the US. Reform, Conservative, or hassidic, all different. NY city intellectual is a whole nother culture. But traditional, as in going back centuries, mediterranean cultures (including the middle eastern part of the med) tend to share some characteristics, (like the macho role for males, and a submissive role for women) that can be an issue, depending on the extent the individual in question has received any of these cultural traits from his forebears. Which the individual may or may not have received, depending on a huge number of things.

Jewish men aren't some monolithic group. That's like asking, "Do black men make good boyfriends/lovers?".
