Jesus! Every time I ask a question I get "Hey! It's a good item! It's clean! It works! I'm sorry if it's not good enough for you, but you don't have to bid! Waah, waah, waah."

Am I alone in this?!

1. i think that would be a pretty good clue...
to not bid on that item, or anything else that seller is offering. lots of scams out there.

2. I find most are quite willing to answer honestly and the few times
I've ever had a problem the seller seemed to genuinely be unaware and eager to make it right.

I know as an occasional seller that is the case with me and I always hope people will start off giving benefit of the doubt. I once sold an item that had been given to me-- in its original box, sealed and with tags. I never opened it and sold it as new, only to find out the item was apparently at least tried on, since they reported that it had a bit of hair on it and appeared to have been resealed. I felt badly about it and offered to do whatever would make the buyer happy, but was concerned they could have left nasty feedback without ever having contacted me about it and given me the chance to make it up to them. Fortunately, that was not the case.

3. I agree, don't bid
People who tend to reply like that have a greater chance of screwing you. I have done a lot of e-baying and other trading and can almost tell on the first reply if they are going to be difficult or not.

Whether they like it or not, you are the customer, and should be treated as such. Maybe you should politely inform them of this as a bit of advice.

4. i don't usually have problems with questions or replies
a reply like that would just make me not want to bid on it.

5. I haven't done eBay in a long time, but I do remember getting
a fair number of defensive responses to my queries. I never understood that because I had no problem answering people's questions about the stuff I was selling.
