Service Representative Has Annoying Habit

A service representative is in my lab today, cleaning, repairing and calibrating microscopes & other equipment. I've been with him for a good part of the day, pointing out some difficulties we've been having with some equipment, and I've been trying really hard to ignore an annoying habit of his.

He has at least some false teeth; when he gets deep in concentration, he pushes the lower plate out with his tongue - out past his lower lip! The first time I saw him do that, I was like :wtf: After that, I couldn't keep my mind on the task at hand, watching for him to repeat that disgusting trick. He doesn't just push out those teeth - he pulls them back in and then out again, over and over. I just want to scream, 'stop playing with your damn false teeth!'

Can you bring it to his attention somehow - conversationally?

"Yeah, my dad lost his teeth when he was fifty. He had some thyroid thing that whacked out his calcium and lost all his teeth. What about you?"

Maybe then he'll be aware of it and stop. Maybe not but it's worth a try, eh?

Sounds icky.

"Doesn't that hurt?"
or
"Has that ever fallen out and hit the floor when you do that?"
or
"I'll bet your wife loves when you do that... but it's grossing me out!"

Yikes.

...she was big and round, too... with bags under her eyes. Seeing her push those teeth out like a big chrome grille. At the age of five, I told her she reminded me of a 52 Buick. She was not amused. She got over it. She was probably my favorite aunt.
