My SprintPCS bill doubled...so I call them to find out why
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 05:41 PM by noiretblu
while i'm checking out my bill on their website, and i notice i don't have the 7pm night plan which i had a few months ago...to my amazement, i had the 9pm night plan. the 7pm night plan cost $5.00/month, and up until a two months ago, i had that option. my bill is usually around $60.00/month, and suddenly, my bill jumps to $150.00.

another thing i noticed, there was no longer the option for a 7pm night plan on the website, and it was there a month ago when i paid my bill online

as i explained to the nice sprint people i talked to today, i renewed my contract with sprint for 2 years in july expressly because of the 7pm night plan...so, how could it simply disappear as an option online? and why did my bill suddenly double?

this is the strangest thing...has anyone else had this problem with sprint? if not, beware of the disappearing 7pm nights option.

6. I get screwed here in FL on my electric and water bill. They overcharged
me by 2000 gallons last month on the water bill and I have to watch them every month along with the electric. TWICE I have gotten reimbursed by the electric company for overcharging or "over reading" the meter. They are doing it to a lot of people because of the hurricanes. Trying to suck money out of people.

Same problem!

I had some plan that was like 1000 minutes for 49.99. All of the sudden, my bill JUMPS to $100.00! I finally called them and they said something about how they changed this, and that, blah, blah, blah! I was so pissed. I am now back on the regular plan, after I had to sign a two year agreement! BASTARDS!

3. How many times I told Verizon 1, ONE, that's ONE YEAR PLAN
I get a 2 year plan without my authorization. I fired them.

4. I have them here in FL for my land line and had them for my cell service,
also. They were very sneaky like that. The service is terrible. I cannot begin to tell you all of the poor service and out rite billing mistakes they have made. When I tried to end my service with them after almost 2 years (with a one year contract), they tried to insist I had signed a two year agreement. In the end, of course, I had to cough up the documentation, and they took the "early cancellation" fee off my bill. Good luck! It sucks when you have to battle these phone companies :(

7. the 'supervisor' tried to blow me off
she told me she would change the plan effective today...as if that was supposed to placate me.
i had to force her to review my account for the past two month, when they did whatever senaky thing they did. when i went to the website to pay my bills today, i damn neatr passed out!

i will take them to the FCC, if i have to. i swear that 7pm nights option has just magically disappeared from the site, and the sprint people are acting as if it was never even there...fuckers.

as i told them...i am not crazy! i know what i saw online, and i know the what i signed up for....geez.

13. You should definately call the FCC. Last year Sprint had the most
complaints to the FCC of all cell providers. CC them on the letter you write to the FCC. It is just such a @#$#&(*&( headache! I am sooooo sick of fighting with service providers of any service you get these days. Then again....... I suppose that's partially because I live in FL and most service sucks here!

16. try this
Look for an older bill, that has 7pm nights option. Then show it to them, they should fix your bill.

Get the persons name and A CONFORMATION NUMBER, when you get an adjustment on your bill.

26. they claim they have no record of my switch
they are claiming i had the 7pm plan before i renewed with them for 2 fng years. i keep telling them i renewed to GET the 7pm night options for $ 5.00 a month. they have changed their pricing...that is the problem. they are trying to charge more, and dishonor the contract.

5. Call them..
You can break your contract if you go to another service....they will buy out your contract. Let them know that you are pissed. And if you remind them the reason you upped your contract in the first place and they have broken contract themselves, they'll probably fix it.

15. i was on the phone with them today...45 minutes
forcing the supervisor to look into it. she wanted to fix the problem as of today, but i told she had to go back to the date of the contract renewal. it took a bit of arm-twisting, but i will have an answer tomorrow.

9. I have a SERIOUS problem with T-Mobile ...
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 05:42 PM by Trajan
Having entered into a one year agreement last year with them ...

1000 Minutes anytime, free nights (after 9 PM) .. free weekends ...

I bought the contract in CA ... then moved to MO 4 months later ...

I went to have my number changed to an MO number .... and BAM: a month later I have a HUGE bill, which I blamed on my talkative, non-clock-watching daughters ......

Then ? .. BAM: again the next month ....

WTF ? ...

I looked closer at my bills, and saw that they had, when they changed the phone numbers, also altered my plan type to 1000 anytime minutes and NO nights and NO weekends ....

WTF ? ...

I called them and demanded they rescind the previous overcharges and credit my account with them ..... they did ....

Whew ... that was april 2004 ...

AGAIN: In July: .. HUGE bill ...... I looked again ?

BAM ! ... AGAIN they changed it .....

WTF ? ...

AGAIN I called them: they said "we dont have 1000 anytime minutes, FN, FW in MO" .... I said, "But you signed a contract with me to provide THAT plan type" ... we finally agreed to a similar plan with LESS minutes (600), FN and FW ...

September ? .....

BAM ! ... NO nights, NO weekends ....

Last time I talked to them, I could barely talk, I was so flustered ....

Ive yet to call back .... I will ....

19. I've had some similar ..
.... hassles with AT&T lately, who used to be very predictable and reliable about their billing and charges.

I've got it straightened out for now but if I happens again, I'm taking my phone number somewhere else :)

You really have to vote with your feet sometimes.

21. Bleeping billing departments.
I went to the hospital for a dislocated shoulder, and they charged me for the x-rays I had, plus a chest x-ray and an abdominal x-ray, which I didn't have, and 6 hrs. in the recovery room (I think I may have been there a TOTAL of 3) So, I called to straighten things out, and they said that I would need to verify the hours for recovery with my chart which they would be happy to provide copies of to me for $15 PLUS 50 cents a page. For their goddammed mistake!! ARRRGHHH. Happily, they admitted the x-ray mistake, since I don't have insurance (because I don't qualify for the stuff I can afford) I can't stick the insurance lawyers on them. Bleeping Blepity Bleeps!

:nuke:

24. I just checked my SprintPCS plan on the web...
and it is unchanged! It still has 7pm and everything else, just as it was when I got the plan.

Having 7pm is nice, since I have a teenager on one of the phone who likes to talk to his friends.

25. you are right, but it's even sneakier than i thought
they've changed the rate from $5.00/mo to "call for pricing." no wonder they disappeared the fact that i had this option for $5.00/month since july 2004.

27. Sprint is EVIL. They automatically renewed my contract, EARLY.
I'd gone in to Radio Shack to cancel and found out a couple weeks later that they charged me $150 for a early cancellation fee. (I cancelled on the day it was to expire.) I called them and gave me a cockameme excuse and would not forgive the amount.

After talking with the radio Shack manager, who called them, they dropped the fee.

Verizon offers much higher quality service and more hours for the $. Sprint can rot in hell.

28. I got a lecture from the Cingular guy about the evils of divorce
When I tried to call to have my plan split off from my soon-to-be-former husband's family plan, the guys told me he hoped we'd thought things through because it's so hard on everyone especially children (we don't have any) and blah blah blah.

Me and Mr. Supervisor had a nice discussion after that.

29. If I only had a nickel for every
time I've heard a person getting screwed over by Sprint. Nextel and AT&T are also ones to avoid. I was terrified to get a cell, but ended up going with US Cellular after a lot of research. I really can't believe how good the service has been. When I got my first bill I was a little confused by it and just called with some questions and the nice gentleman gave me a $30 credit when I'm sure it wasn't even warranted..I still don't even know what it was for.

I used to do customer service for a major cell provider and all I can say is be persistent, but understand most reps really do want to help and are equally as floored by the shady practices. Sometimes just asserting your anger, but pointing out that you realize it's not the rep's fault will get you some nice surprises.

Anyways best of luck, I'm sure you'll need it. :(
