Book Signing and Lecture with William Pitt - Philly/Delaware area
Yes, if you're in the area, come out and support Will Pitt as he makes a stop in the Philadelphia area for his book tour.

Schedule for William Rivers Pitt on July 16:

  •   10 a.m. - Guest on News Talk A.M with host John Watson on WILM ?AM.  (http://www.wilm.com). BTW, this guy is a conservative talk show host, so go to the website and listen live and call in if you can!!

  • 2 p.m. ? Book signing at Chester County Book & Music Company, West   Goshen Shopping Center (Paoli Pike & Route 202), West Chester PA.

  • 7:30 p.m. - Public Lecture in Grace Hall, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1506 W. 13th Street, Wilmington, DE 19806. Books will be made available for signing after the lecture

More details about the event can be found here at http://www.paceminterris.com/w_r___pitt.htm

Hope to see you folks there! I know many DU folks have said they will be showing up for one of the 2 live events. I'll probably be around most of the day since I'm chauffer for the day for Will and some of the ladies from the Pacem group.

1. Wednesday-2 PM-Chesco Book Club
I know where that is...I'll try to be there if I can convince my parents. The only problem is I get out of Driver's Ed at 12:45, and the distance between AAA, home, and West Chester is great enough that time problems are created. Hopefully I'll be there, but it will require a bit of luck.

7. I heard him spreading the good word on KPFT yesterday afternoon
Getting the "truth out". I was returning from taking my daughter, her boyfriend and his sister to Galveston beach for the day.

These poor kids live in the middle of Neocon Heaven (hell really) and I don't think they have ever met anyone like me before. They get that I don't like Bush but they have no clue why. They are smart enough to make good choices, but the culture they live in teaches them not to pay attention to politics, just keep shopping and keep yourself highly entertained, but don't ask questions.

Well, when the announcer said Will Pitt was about to come on I told them that this was a really cool guy that used to teach high school. And of course my daughter knew his name from hearing me talk about him. So they all listened. I didn't say much, but was happy to introduce them to such a feast for thought. Daughter's boyfriend liked the sound of the "Mr. Bush, You Are a Liar" article; hopefully he will now look it up and read it. I may leave a copy laying around just in case.

This is a part of activism that I really like, getting the word out. Especially to younger kids who could vote soon. They have so little truth to go on, especially those who live in upper income areas.

I'm not the most convincing speaker, but if I can just lead them to someone who is . . .

8. He'll be spreading the truth on WILM 1450am from 10-12
And since that station barely makes it out of the Wilmington DE metro area, the rest of you DUers can listen to the live feed on http://www.wilm.com/

BTW, the guy who runs the show - he's a conservative! (BUt from what I've heard, not a Rush Porkbaugh neo-con)

9. When's Will going to grace the Houston area?
KCDem and I will take him out for beers.

Ahh, we'd prolly rather buy lots of good beer and drink at home, so we can all get well and truly plastered.
