At liturgy today, the sermon was on John Lennon
I thought the preist was going to blast him for being an atheist, but instead he praised Lennon's ability to speak for his whole generation and acknowledged that the 24th anniversary of his death was viewed by many as more important than the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (which we were celebrating) to the majority of people. I had forgotten it was today, and the last person I had expected to be reminded of John Lennon's death was by my preist. He closed, strangely enough, by reciting the last verse of "Imagine".
I dunno, just thought that was cool...

5. Erie, PA
I remembered that totally by accident as well, but not too many people were at mass, so don't feel bad.

7. That is very cool!
We had an Associate Priest for Mass today, but I'd bet that our regular pastor, Fr. Mike, might have made reference to this. I wish John Lennon was still here....I know in my heart he would be holding the Chimp accountable for the horrible mess he has created!!
