43. Hansen:
I'll just use a Family guy quote:

Peter: If you could be stranded on a desert island with any woman in the world, who would it be?
Quagmire: Taylor Hanson.
Joe Swanson: Taylor Hanson is a guy.
Quagmire: You guys are yankin' me. "Hey, let's put one over on Quagmire."
Peter: No, he's actually a guy, Quagmire.
Quagmire: What? That's insane. That's impossible.
(Pause)
Quagmire: Oh god. Oh my god. I've got all these magazines. Oh god.

38. Gee, it's hard to say.
There are so many good ones. I mean, the 31 meter band was active this afternoon. I was listening to Radio Exterior de España on 9630 kHz; it was coming in like gangbusters. There were several French language broadcasts too.

I guess I'm partial to the tropical bands - the 120 meter, 90 meter, 75 meter, and 60 meter bands - just because it's so hard to hear the faint stations.

My first solid-state SW radio was one I got for 75 cents at a yard sale back in 1985. It needed a small repair, and then started to use it. I loved listening on winter evenings at sunset - December, January, and February. One of my favorite stations was Afica N°1 at about 5 kHz. The ground on the east coast would be covered by a layer of snow, and yet I could hear calypso-type music booming in from the west coast of Africa as if the station were across the steet. Late at night, I could here Radio 5, broadcasting from Capetown, South Africa. It was summer down there, so I'd here a lot of ads for Yamaha motorcycles.

You know, you really have to hand it to the ionosphere. Is there a better region of the atmosphere?

I suppose you're one of those smarty-pants liberals who think it's "cool" to attack the ionosphere.

Only when viewed in cross-section. It's a sphere, all right. And where are the ions? Well, they're too small to see - until you get solar flares. Then you see them as the aurora borealis.

Where the fuck are my car keys
They were right here in my hand
I had them just a second ago
Did I leave them in the kitchen
or underneath the cushions of the couch
I can't find them anywhere, any...

I love Belle & Sebastian, but ok...

They exist solely so guys who get their asses kicked in high school can know that there are other guys in the universe whose asses they themselves could probably kick.

(Plagarized from a scathing and horrible review of The Decemberists' "Her Majesty the Decemberists" on Amazon... I thought it was kind of funny in a sick way, though. I love The Decemberists too!)
