Since I've had so much interest in this auction and so many people visiting to check it out I wanted to take this opportunity to say something about the mind poison that is American media and especially right wing talk radio.
You are being lied to by the likes of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Mancow and others like them. We have become a nation of bullies goose stepping throughout the world and this is why the world hates us. We are a nation of doublespeak, where "free speech" means no free speech and "freedom" means slavery to corporate interests. We have become a nation of ignoramuses with no critical thinking skills and no desire to change that. We have done this to ourselves because it's easier to be a bully and a dumbass than it is to face the realities of a world mired in environmental destruction and hate. We like being told by our Fox heros that it's all ok and not to pay attention to the man behind the curtain. We are told that an Iraqi life is less valuable than our own by the bullies in charge and we nod our heads in agreement: monkey see, monkey do.
Our minds have become imprisoned by controlled media and talk radio dittoheads who appeal to the most base instincts of the human animal and we allow it to continue by tuning in and listening to them and thus improving their ratings. We are deceived into thinking that bullies = strength and that love for your neighbor, concern for the environment, civil liberties, fair elections, fair wages and working conditions = weakness; and we have bought it hook, line and sinker. We are a nation of weakness because we have allowed the bullies to define the terms of strength.
So my appeal to you today is to turn off your radio and your tv and start thinking for yourself. Take a look around you at the pollution in your water and air, at your friends and family who are unemployed or working for slave wages, at the caskets of our children coming home from this bully war for oil. And stop letting the bullies tell you who "god" is, because their god is the selfish bully god they have created in their own image. Stop being a dittohead.
