Im grateful for.....
My grandma who taught me that being a Democrat is like breathing.

My brother, who drank like a fish, and when he died, taught me that drinking is alright, but drinking and driving a car or a motorcycle may well cost you your life.

my dad, who showed me that learning about different cultures make us all more tolerant and realize our similarities.

and my kids, who taught me that when they want to, they can embarrass you amongst the very people you want to fool into thinking you really ARE that great...they are here to bring you down a peg or two.............it IS their job.

what are you grateful for?

1. My mom...
who sacrificed a great deal for her children because she could. She kept it all together in the face of all adversity. She supported her children in almost everything we ever chose to do, provided it was legal and ethical. She's the best. Period.
My dad because here is a man who never finished high school because of family tragedy, but yet busted his tail for his wife and kids because he knew he had to...and they are both AVID Democrats and passed it along to their children.
My own children who are scattered all over the place but always kept me grounded, and still do for that matter.
I am very greatful that I am a lifelong Democrat. Wouldn't want it any other way.
I am greatful that I live in a great state like Iowa, where people are friendly and have a good work ethic, even though it is now a red state.

2. Yea, Texas used to be blue I hear
Ive been to Iowa for a tiny space in time, I thought it was really great. Will visit again for a day this summer. Sounds like we love where we came from and where we are going, in life.

:hi:

5. I am grateful for ...
my mom who despite everything has always helped me get whatever I need in my life .

My ex boyfriend for showing me that I really deserved a much better guy in life - someone who loved me outside of the bed and who really wanted me in their world .

My friend currently training to go to Iraq - for showing me what it means to smile again and for making me feel alive and showing me that happiness can be found again when you least expect it . :: sigh :: ...

6. I'm grateful that it hasn't been all easy
I think if it had been, I wouldn't appreciate the better times nearly enough.

I'm so very grateful for my children -- the three living and the three who died. They have each graced my life with unimaginable gifts of which I'm not deserving.

Mostly, I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to experience so much with so many people I love.

P.S. Thank you, this was a beautiful and grounding thread that was most needed by my soul.
