Nellie McKay... anyone else heard her?

I have just recently been introduced to her music. She is an incredible talent. Imagine combining Norah Jones, Eminem, and Beck. I know that sounds like an unholy mess, but somehow she makes it work. She's a great piano player, she has a wicked sense of humor, and she is extremely perceptive... and she's only nineteen friggin' years old!

If there was any justice in this world, she would be on top of the charts instead of Avril, Lindsey, Britney, etc.

Sounded very interesting. I always intend to find some of her stuff, but keep forgetting. I'm going to B&N tomorrow; maybe I'll remember then.

2. I love her music too.

But I met her last April a few days before her birthday and she had already been advertised as being 19 for a year before so if birthdays work the way I was taught they were, she's more than 19 now.

She is a phenomenal, original talent though. Almost shockingly so.

6. She's got a definite personality, that's for sure.

She has a perky, insecure, arrogant, comic, acid, fluffy kind of personality. ( I know they don't go together but it all fits her anyway.)

I can see how it might annoy some. I like it myself. Quirky as hell and I like hell.
