Has Anyone Ever Seen The Movie "The Tin Drum?"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078875/

I've Probably Not Seen The Movie In About Twenty Plus Years. I Remember Being Fascinated By The Movie When I Was In High School. Seems Like It Was Quite Controversial. Does Anyone Else Have Any More Recent Memories Or Thoughts About This Movie?

2. Wasn't it banned in some areas?
I remember being curious about it, but didn't get around to it. Maybe the subtitles made me shy away.

10. The book is waaaaaaaay better.
I saw the movie when I was still in high school and thought it was twisted. So much so, that I didn't want to read the book. Eventually I did and LOVED it! Then I rented the movie again to see how it compaired to the book... I still thought the movie was crap. Sorry, it didn't work for me.

11. Religious right group in OKC wanted the video removed from public
library

student and parents at a conservative christian college in IL or IN sued the school because it was shown in German class.....'they sent their child to this school to avoid such movies'

the book by Gunther Grass was considered the best German novel to deal with the Nazi era
