Woman Gives Birth In Olive Garden Restaurant

BOULDER, Colo. -- It wasn't your typical order to go. An employee at an Olive Garden in Boulder had a baby in one of the restaurant's bathrooms.

Co-workers say the pregnant woman had locked herself inside the restroom for nearly three hours.

An employee called police as soon as managers became aware that the woman was locked in the bathroom.

Steve Coe, a spokesman for the Italian food chain, said while the circumstances may be a bit unusual, their concern is with the mother and her new son. Both are said to be doing well.

Police say the woman speaks Spanish and authorities are having a little trouble learning why she didn't seek medical help.

Maybe the woman is an illegal alien (undocumented foreigner), afraid to be found out and sent back to her country of origin. Maybe she needed a social security number to give to the emergency room or medical clinic as proof of her being here legally in this country, or a green card, neither one of which she may have had... maybeshe was afraid of the border patrol ... so many maybes..maybe she was hoping that as the mother of a new Amerian citizen border patrol would not send her back...maybe she was smuggled in by some underground railroad... so many maybes.

If you're afraid to be found out, giving birth in a restaurant is not the best idea.

They really don't care about your appointment calendar.

I'm pretty familiar with how babies show up.

But they tend to give you a bit of warning - in this case enough to lock yourself in a bathroom for three hours.

but maybe she didn't PLAN to give birth in a RESTAURANT, maybe she just couldn't HELP the fact that that is when the baby decided to make his presence known to the world...you know, water breakings and birth pains happen not when you plan for them, they happen just when they happen.

I don't have anything against latinos nor against undocumented alines. However, white middle class America has come up with several propositions, in the colorado and new mexico areas to round them up and send them back. just a fact.

The point was if you are an illegal alien and don't want to be CAUGHT you might choose a less HIGH PROFILE location to give birth.

You don't have to be white or middle class to know that.

Some people paint themselves against a wall. She may have done that. I believe she may have felt that was the safest place for her to be, dumb as it may have been on her part.
