4. Sweet!
The Muskutov-Cassegrain is the best for home/amateurs! Allows a nice short length per high-light gathering ability.

With the computer, it makes it a breeze on finding interesting non-star objects... If you haven't looked at the horse-head or eagle nebulas yet, these are very nice this time of year! Get the deep-sky imager as a nice add-on, and you can do some cool astro-photography!

Just as well though, it's going to take me some time to figure out how to use it ! She also bought a bunch of accessories, eyepieces, software, etc. I can hook up my 35mm Nikon SLR ! I can't wait to bring it up north, where there is no light pollution ! I think she pitied me, out in the backyard with my 10x50 binoculars !

PS: welcome to DU ! :toast:

7. Cool !!!! Thanks Lex !!!!
I can hardly wait !!!! I haven't actually used the 'scope yet. This thread actually started as a copycat thread !! The original was "I was just browsing the galleries" !! LOL

Here's a site that I've learned a lot from, and seen some cool pics:

http://space.com/

Here's another cool one, it features the Geminid Meteor Shower as well:

http://www.spaceweather.com/

Maybe we should start a forum ? Maybe someone already has ?

Peace, Joe
