My weekend was just ruined....

So I was supposed to go home to visit my parents, and we where having a holiday shindig with a huge part of the family tomorrow night. I help my mom cook and do almost everything.

I get called into a meeting and am handed a huge task of searching through the past 14 years in ever kind of source (Newspaper, to Internet sites, to magazines, to basically ANYTHING that is considered public domain) for statements regarding a certain topic.

I'm gonna have to put in 10 hours both Saturday and Sunday at the MINIMUM to accomplish this task..

its the ONLY redeeming factor about this...

It's not cheap, but it is a great source for newspaper stories. (Dislosure: I used to work for Lexis-Nexis)

and westlaw, and sages, and dialogue...all of which i will be combing though...

i also need to search old web pages...

like copernic (download at copernic.com) or dogpile to use multiple search engines (like google, alta vista, etc.) all at once.

I bought it about six years ago. It has helped me win more arguments on forums than anything else. It is also useful for finding those cached pages. Good luck!

just about missing my family gathering and getting called into a meeting at 4 on friday to find out i have to work all weekend....
