The guy who killed Dimebag
They were having interviews with some people who knew him. He really had a lot of mental problems I guess. One said he wanted to join their band and he brought Pantera lyrics and said they were his and Pantera stole them from him and he was going to sue them. One guy said that he would sit there and laugh to himself and pet invisible dogs. They said a few other things.
I wonder why no one figured out this guy was slipping into some sort of illness. I bet that's why he was booted from the marine Corps.
I don't know much about Pantera and Dimebag, but I just thought I would post this.

3. But maybe he showed no signs of being harmful to anyone
I know a few people who are "strange" but show no signs of being potentially violent. When do you step in?

2. Yes, I read today that he was a Marine stationed at Camp Lejuene NC
up until about a year ago. He got discharged before pulling his whole stint (unusual) and the Marine Corps. is not saying why.

4. There is not a lot you can do to help someone if they don't think...
... they have a problem. It is very hard to convince someone that they are crazy.

7. that's a good question
He might have stole the gun, got it from a black market dealer or possibly walked into a gun shop and bought it. I think it needs to be a priority in the investigation for sure.

9. Sadly, the moral if this story is that all metal fans are timebombs...
... and not that our gun laws are so fucking lax because of lobbyists that crazy mother fuckers like this can readily get guns.

Our priorities are seriously fucked in this country.

Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 10:22 PM by Dying Eagle
I take offense to that statement. I am a metal fan and I am a father, Construction worker and I am on DU?!

So please don't call me a "timebomb". That is like saying everyone on Internet Message boards are Geeks.

8. It's unfortunate he died, not to mention while doing something he loves
But there is something I cannot get past and I feel wrong for it, I can't get pass the fact his name is Dimebag. It is an odd name to have especially considering what the word refers too. It is something I felt like noting, not a joke, it's just that everytime I see that name I get distracted by the name more then the content of the post or article. I know I need help for getting so focused on it. x(

11. These guys definitely enjoyed their weed
But the Abbot brothers were not anywhere near as much into the weed and drugs as Phil. He was way over the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Abbot brothers also owned a strip joint in the Dallas area. Many celebs frequented the place.
