1. Is that Frederick the Great on the Potsdamer Rex label?
I assume so given the Latin word "Rex" and "Unser königliches Bier." I'm probably wrong. Either way, he has a nice hat.

2. exactly
IMHO the beer is Kindl sold with another label, but it has many fans. The brewery goes back to Friedrich-Wilhelm, expanded by Friedrich dem Großen (AKA Frederick the Great).

5. considering the situation in the US,
that would be money well spent.

I have not yet totally figured out how they manage to make imported beer taste just as bad, however. I guess the extended best-before date/pasteurization has something to do with it - beer should only be good for weeks or a few months, not years like in the US.

6. I like Schultheiss best.
Buergerbraeu is good too. I don't drink the Kindl unless it's a Weisse.

7. I tend to agree
Although I prefer Berliner Pilsner (which belongs to Schultheiss). Bürgerbräu is following the Bavarian Brewing Tradition, they get a lot Kudos for being the last family-operated major brewery.
