Special prize goes to the first person who correctly identifies the bubble blower. Ok, there is no special prize, just my undying respect.

Died in 1993. Played the same instrument as my last avatar, which is kind of odd, now that I think of it, since I'm a saxophonist. Strike that - WAS a saxophonist. His bio was called: To Be Or Not To Bop

One of the greatest musicians to ever live. EDIT: Damn, you got your hints in before my post. Is it scary that I knew this without the hints?

I always thought he didn't get enough credit for his time. Charlie Parker got more attention in the be-bop area, and then when Diz did the latin-jazz thing, everyone was too far into Miles' "West Coast Sound".

14. I had a long conversation with Ray Brown about that once
He had the same opinion. Diz broke a lot of ground and never got credit for it. Plus - he was such a funny guy. I was a jazz geek at a young age, and got to spend a little time with him when I was 16. He was a non-stop crack-up. If I ever get them uploaded, I'll post some of the pics I took of him.

is no slouch either. My mom was a die-hard Beatles and Motown fan. My dad only listened to jazz. I truly got teh best of both worlds. Probably why I'm a music major now.

11. Webster blowing a bubble?
Arnold Jackson blowing a bubble? Please let it not be Michael Jackson, circa 1987, blowing a bubble!
