Boomtown Rats: Tonic for the Troops
If you don't own this record, on vinyl, you can never be as cool as me.

Thus sayeth gratuitous.

1. That's a GREAT record!
Doesn't it have a song on it with the line "She's so 20th Century, she's so 1970s"? Dates me ...

2. "She's So Modern" is a good tune.
And "Rat Trap."

But Geldof's Springsteen thing was getting out of hand by that point.

Gotta change your handle to RandomNotAsKoolAsGratuitousZip.

And I never loved Eva Braun.

4. I have a theory that that song is the reason why
Roger Waters hired him for "The Wall." The first time I heard "Eva Braun," I could swaer I could almost see Waters listening HARD.

8. Must . . . resist . . . no proof . . .
You scan in a photo of it, and I would. But ONLY if you also have the entire "Kindling" collection.

I am a god.

10. Did anyone else notice at the time...
that when U2 first started out Bono live was no more than a Geldof clone? First saw U2 in Cork in '79 and didn't rate them at all because of that.
