My cat is hard at work saving us from the evil vole-hordes
She's brought in three of them since this morning (not to mention a small bird and a large insect.)

More seriously though, it's got me wondering whether the wet weather this spring really might have led to a vole population explosion. (At least, it would be more plausible than the cat suddenly turning ninja assassin.) Has anyone else in the northeast noticed an over-abudance of rodents?

1. is she pregnant
our Barn Cat's when they were pregnant or nursing kittens they would bring in all kinds of mice, voles, moles, chipmunks and squirels. They would feed them to the kittens or eat thier catch themselves.

2. Welllll
I'm in the south...and while my kitties don't bring me voles, they have killed many nasty insects. We have a real plague of them down here, with the mild winter and torrid spring/summer.

Spare me a lot of change for exterminators. :)

4. In Minnesota, the little bastards seem...
...to favor drier weather, at least based on my observations in my yard.

My neighbor hired an exterminator to get rid of them. He put traps around my neighbor's yard. All it did was drive more of them into my yard.

Loan me your cat?

5. Sounds like Tom Ridge........
should give your kitty a "Homeland Security" award. Then again, I wouldn't let Tom Ridge touch any of my animals.
