A federal attorney I know gave me this site. I thought you might find it interesting. You can check to see if the FBI has ever had a file on you. I was shocked to see that there was a file on me.

Do not use your Social Security Number. Just check your state, and put in your name. If a match is found they will ask for a year of birth to narrow the search. You will get the case number, date of
investigation and any photos on file. It's a free site, but is expected to be closed due to a federal court order.

Seriously though, I say let the FBI waste their time on me...they got nothing...

I've had security clearances since 1985, some pretty high up so I don't think they have anything bad on me, but they know me. That comes from working in the government.

Since I was a bank employee for 8 years and once had a DoD security clearance, I know the FBI has a file on me.

I curently have a SECRET security clearance.

A lot of the IT jobs in SoCal require a current TS/SCI clearance. If you don't have clearance, it's very hard to get it; you have to have the job first and it takes up to about 2 years supposedly.

The funny thing about clearances is that most of the information you see is either already publicly known or can be easily deduced from public information. In 1982 I got yelled at by an Army officer for putting together two unclassified pieces of information and figuring out a Secret level one. It was a simple arithmetic operation.

He asked me who told me that secret. I said "I figured it out myself." He told me "We don't figure things out in the Army!"

Actually, I'm sure I've got one. Went to an international school where we had all sorts of "rogue" nations represented. Went to Berkeley from there. Host a website that points to all sorts of government documents on matters they'd rather not discuss.

I'd like to think someone, somewhere, in some federal building, has work to do and a dental plan for his kids just because of me. :evilgrin:

...but I believe they really do have one on me.
