Okay, I admit it. I LOVE Christmas
I still get excited about it. And I'm a freakin' atheist, for chrissakes.

I love Christmas lights.
I love wrapping presents.
I love spending time with my family.
I love making (and eating) Christmas cookies.
I love Christmas dinner.
I love decorating the tree.
I love singing carols.
I love Christmas music in general.
I love buying presents for people and watching them open them.
I love sending and receiving Christmas cards.

So don't rain on my parade! Enough of being cynical!

6. Me too!
I love Christmas. I always have. I love giving gifts, putting up lights, making cookies, etc.

This season has brought me a little comfort, knowing that the New Year looks bleak. So, let us who love Christmas, love it---for it may help some get thorough this post-election crap!

9. The thing I like most about Christmas is
being around my family at a stress free time not having to worry about work for a little while.

I don't decorate my own home. I live alone and have very little company. But I do enjoy looking at other people's decorations. I like to turn on the Christmas tree lights at night at my parent's house and turn off all of the other lights and just watch the tree go round and round (it's on one of those revolving pedastles).

10. I love it too!
And I like everything on your list!

The only difference appears to be that I am not an atheist, but I've never let a thing like that stand in the way of friendly kinship. ;

12. People have done so
for thousands of years, whatever they called it at the time. :D

Who doesn't like a party?

Personally, I celebrate Sir Isaac Newton's birthday.

13. I do too!
It helps (as an atheist also) that the roots of our 'modern' xmas are so steeped in Saturnalia, that I derive pleasure from the paganistic qualities.

For Saturnalia, the Romans decorated their homes with evergreens, ate and drank to excess, gave gifts to the children (dolls and the like), and opened up their temples to the poor. Sound familiar?

American xmas incorporates many Victorian qualities too.

All before the myths of Jupiter, Apollo, Venus, etc, were replaced by the myths of Jesus and Santa Claus.

So Happy Saturnalia/Christmas/Whatever! :D
