Look at this, look at the front page:

We're taking a break from publishing new articles during the Christmas period, although - as always - the Discussion Forums are open for business. Our moderators work like Santa's elves.

Also, various of the little "comic strip" pictures of the Bush family and administration acknowledge the existance of Christmas.

How are we supposed to advance the liberal agenda of getting rid of Christmas, when counterrevolutionary factions (probably in concert with the DLC) are advancing these ideas?

Santa's an old wise Pagan Druid, the elves are ... well elves, the Christmas tree is really a Pagan symbol of the tree of life (as in evergreen-green year round), the mistletoe and holy are Pagan symbols of magic and fertility (as in kissing under the mistletoe), the Yule log is burnt to celebrate the 12 days of Yule (Twelve days of Christmas), and Christmas lights and candles represent the return of the waxing sun after the Winter Solstice.

So partying on Garth, it's all a big Pagan Party!

We MUST get rid of Christmas, or else all those kids will go on being happy celebrating the birth of their lord -- and all those secularists who just like Christmas will go on celebrating this most vile of holidays. What is wrong with the world???? Why must we have Christmas? <sarcasm off>

Honestly, the attempts by some (very few people, and this proves to be little more than cannon fodder for RW talk show hosts and gutter reporters) to remove all mention of X-Mas from public life puzzle me.
I don't want to force X-Mas or any other holiday or belief on anyone, but some people need to lighten up about other peoples holidays.

You still didn't understand my sarcasm. Let my try this again, with real simple words. Right wingers *THINK*, that is *THINK*, that we're trying to destroy Christmas. But we're NOT, as in, we're NOT actually, really doing that. Do you understand? This is NOT a true thing. I LOVE Christmas, and I love Christ, for that matter. So, when they say that, they're LYING. This whole thread drips with sarcasm. I'm making fun of conservative perceptions of liberals, kind-of the way African American comedians make fun of racist stereotypes of themselves.

You'll notice too that I actually take a couple genuine comic stabs at DUers as well (the grr and wtf smileys as a preemptive way of indicating that one is not in the mood for dissenting opinions on a controversial issue, the blame placed on the DLC).

16. There are a few people who want to remove everything X-mas from
public life, but they are so few and so far between. I honestly do not know of any liberal who thinks banning X-mas is a good idea. I do not know any who cares if their kid sings silent night at school.
