Austin area DUers...Sept 28 pre-rally get-together
I'm sure most of y'all Austin area DUers know about the big "Bring the troops home" rally at Woolridge Park at 2pm on Sunday.

Some of us were talking about getting together to do lunch before hand and since nobody else posted a thread about it...I am. :-)

Enter and sign in please if you'd like to meet up.

Suggestions on where to eat?

Darth Velma

9th and Guadalupe. The rally is supposed to start there at 2pm and then move to the Capitol at 3pm.

Hope to see you there and at lunch.

Don't forget, the Texas Democratic Party office is at 7th and Rio Grande as well.

I should have figured Rio Grande. It is the river furthest south, and the last of the River Streets before West Ave. :dunce:

I used to live there. I miss it. Except the heat. I lived on 45th street and then off of Oltorf and then up by UT off of Guadalupe. How is Austin these days? Tell her I sends me best.

I have to be in Hell (Houston) on Sat. and won't leave until sometime Sunday a.m.

Enjoyed a little Bu$hit bashing at the ACL Fest with one of the reps handing out flyers for this gathering......interested in hearing what the families of soldiers will have to say.

I doubt Katz's will be overflowing...but maybe 11:30 is better - earlier usually gets seats. Ya think?

That early should beat the after-church crowd (and gee did I just prove I grew up in small-town Texas with that comment or what). That'll give us all plenty of time to sit around and chat and plot against THE MAN.

If other folks want to straggle in later we can always save 'em a seat.
