26 hours and this long nightmare will be over!
I accept that I am generally always depressed, among many other things.

But being alone on Christmas, particularly sucks!

Patiently counting the hours. :spank:

5. Thank God for the Internets
I was alone for some years before moving back to Az. and it was tough up there in Wa.
Now I am back with family, and it's better, but I relate to you, being alone. Hang in there, and post here, it will help you get thruough the night *hugs*

DU is the only thing that has gotten me through the past couple
of months. I expect it will do so again.

12. I chuckle every time I read "Internets"
I assume it is a jab at GWB from one of the debates? I know that's when I strated using it. I never even put quotes or anything around it. I wonder how many folks actually "get it" when I say that.

6. Your Not Alone - Have Spent Many A Christmas By Myself
Just look at it as mass psychosis in action.

Watching others getting all stressed out can be amusing when you detach yourself from the process.

8. My son is in Lincoln with his father and I'm going to watch Meet Me In
St. Louis followed by Holiday Inn.

Tomorrow I'll have more company than I'll know what to do with. But tonight, it's just me. Me and The Who, The Climax Blues Band, Warren Zevon, Elton John (old stuff), Michael Jackson (nothing he may have done can negate the greatness of his music), B.B. King, Jackie Wilson, Bobbie Blue Bland, The Beatles.

Hey, I have quite a houseful now! (I can watch t.v. and listen to the stereo at the same time. As long as the movie is one I've seen before.)

Even though you're by yourselves, I hope that tomorrow will be better, full of people, hope, and love. Merry Christmas guys.

13. I love to go to the movies on Xmas day and then go out to dinner
in one of the restaurants that are open .

The streets have hardly any traffic - the sidewalks are pretty empty - its a win win situation!

in my family. Should I be kind and take my copy of the Daily Mirror front page off my fridge? Ya know, the one that says "Four more years of Dubya. How can 59,054,087 people be so DUMB?"

That's really all I want to do right now...I'm getting only short bursts of holiday cheer, followed by the urge to just go to sleep.

And laughs with the muppets. Nothing like laughter to cure anything. Sounds like you're all set. No, wait. Throw in some good food in there. And you're all set! Enjoy!

33. Just think of it as an uninterrupted day at DU.
I think many of us will be here, and we can cheer one another by knowing that we all care about the same things.

Church obligations are keeping me in town for the weekend, so I'll be here much of today.

Look at all the people who responded to your post!

39. Actually
I prefer to be alone as well. Ever since I was a kid I would rather have a nose in a book than anything else. Which is why I went to the library and stacked up for the weekend.

"boyfriend's house," huh? So you are a woman. Any chance you are single? And, by some miracle, living in the Tampa Bay, FL. area!
