I'm so proud of my Dad - Supporter of same-sex marriage

He was very proud of our local MP for saying he's voting for it and told him he'd back him 100 per cent on the issue (he's a city councillor).

My dad is an OLD SCHOOL reform party member (sort of) for years I've been telling him he's in the wrong party...maybe now...we'll see.

My own dad, a gruff red-stater (but a Democrat), who's been married to my mom for 42 years supports same-sex marriage too.

He says he can't understand HOW it could affect his marriage by having same-sex marriage, and plus, people who seriously commit to each other's well-being should all have the same benefits, regardless.

...when he told me if "...queers wanna get married, hell, let 'em get married." This is the same gentle soul that spends a great deal of time doing research on-line for his fantasy NASCAR league. I wonder if he'd feel the same if I was gay.
