Post the favorite gift you GAVE to someone.
I got my best friend the first season of "Arrested Development" on DVD, and I got my roommate "America: the Book." I'm also really pleased with the mix CD I made for everyone else.

So cough it up, DU - what's your favorite thing you gave away today?

13. I gave Doug the book "Broadway"
It's the companion book to the PBS series on a few weeks ago...a very nice history of the Broadway theater from the beginning of the late 19th century until today. The book had some stuff not found in the PBS series.

Doug seemed to appreciate it VERY much. I'm glad he did. :-)

26. Sirius Radio For my Pops
Got my Dad a Sirius Radio for his Big Truck so he can listen to Air America.

He's getting real politically aware because of me (he voted for the 1st time in his life in November and voted straight Dem ticket) and he can't stand only having OxyRush as a choice on his FM as he runs up and down the highways all week.

I'm looking forward to the Sunday Dinner conversations once he discovers Mike Malloy :7

The little kids really like that -- they can play big shot and pay the bill. I also gave them Toy Story 2 DVD that I tracked down on eBay for them. (It's in "the vault" or some goofy thing.) Very light on Christmas here.

35. I found the exact toy my todder asked for
It wasn't anything he had ever seen, but it was the best thing he could imagine: an ambulance with front doors and back doors that open, with a stretcher with wheels.
I looked EVRYWHERE. Ambulances aren't exactly the most popular rescue vehicle these days. Finally found a really cool Playmobil one. My boy was over the moon when he opened it.

Too bad Santa gets all the credit. :bounce:

37. The crabs I gave to the girlfriend who broke up with me Xmas Eve
Edited on Sun Dec-26-04 12:17 AM by Rabrrrrrr
Bitch. That'll teach her.

Seriously, though - no, I didn't, and no, there was no breakup, and no, I don't have crabs or any other STD. That was all just a purile joke. :-)

I think I'm most proud of the cookie decorating sprinkles in the shapes of fish (multicolored) and yellow buses and some other fun shapes that I gave my partner. She was totally overjoyed by them! She also was totally charged up over the gift of bees that I had my sister give in her name through Heifer Project.

And I knew it would be a hit, but it ended up being way more of a hit than expected: I gave my sister the "Jackie Onassis" in pictures book that just came out this year (I think maybe it was just this Fall, not sure). She's lovin' it! And it is a really, really nicely done bit of artwork book making.
