Calling all espresso/cappuccino drinkers...
What are some good recipes? Got an espresso/cappuccino maker for Christmas; now I need some tips.

1. I like plain Lattes...
But, if you want to try some fun stuff...
Try some of those Torani Syrups...

Go to their website and try some of their recipes.

2. Thanks...
I'll be sure to; I've also found a few other sites that give proportions of steamed milk to espresso, tips on strength, adding spices, etc. I can't wait to try it out. Unfortunately, I have to wait until tomorrow to go by some. It's like having a toy with no batteries!

3. I have yet to do anything fancy,
but I throw some Hershey's cocoa powder in the mix to make mochas.

4. Sounds great.
I also got a two pound chocolate bar. I thought of putting some chocolate shavings in the mix. Or maybe I should just put them on the whipped cream, if I use whipped cream. What do you think?

5. I'd put them on the whipped cream.
Or, if you want to make a Turtle Mocha, you should try chopped Snickers Bar bits, with carmel syrup. OK, my blood sugar just spiked!

I would definitely recommend finding a good local roaster--preferably one with organic / fair trade beans. It really can make a world of difference in taste. As far as recipes, I like to keep it simple so I can really taste the coffee--just a little milk once in a while is about all I ever profane it with. :)

7. What type of beans do you recommend?
We have a Barney's coffee store here, not much else. What type of bean is best for espresso? I prefer dark roasts, would they work?

8. You can experiment with your machine to see what tastes best to you
But I would personally go for darker roasts.
