The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies, my love,
To the dark and the empty skies.

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
And felt your heart beat close to mine
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird

That was there at my command, my love
That was there at my command.

The first time ever I lay with you
I felt the earth move in my hand
I thought our joy would fill the earth
And last 'till the end of time, my love,
And last 'till the end of time.

Dammit, I swear to ya - if you can listen to Roberta sing you that song, and not break out cryin', no matter whether yer all fuckin' drunk or not, you're just not made of human parts. That's all.

14. sleepy.
...but happy.
It was a good Christmas. I married into a very nice family. Tomorrow we head up to Toronto to celebrate with my side of the family.
My almost-three-year-old is over the moon about his gifts. He's such a joy.

How was your day?

The Cure - Primary
The innocence of sleeping children
Dressed in white
And slowly dreaming
Stops all time
Slow my steps and start to blur
So many years have filled my heart
I never thought I'd say those words

The further we go
And older we grow
The more we know ...
The less we show ...

The very first time I saw your face
I thought of a song
And quickly changed the tune
The very first time I touched your skin
I thought of a story
And rushed to reach the end
Too soon

Oh remember
Please
Don't change

So the fall came
Thirteen years
A shiny ring
And how I could forget your name
The air no longer in my throat
Another perfect lie is choked
But it always feels the same

So they close together
Dressed in red and yellow
Innocent forever
Sleeping children in their blue soft rooms
Still dream

The further we go
And older we grow
The more we know ...

12. I'm not made of human parts, apparently. Because it doesn't affect me...
one damn bit. It's a pretty song, but I'm not going to start blubbering over it.
