Tech savy people, I need your help!
I got an iPod for Christmas as well as $20 gift card for online music from www.circuitcity.com/musicnow . Anyway, I downloaded a CD (actually purchased it) and went to upload the songs into my iPod via their upload thingy and I got an error saying that I couldn't upload it because of their privacy policy. The files are WMA and I need them to be MP3 and I can't convert it. Did I just get screwed out of 20 bucks, or is there a way I can upload this crap?

3. Can't you upload your files (songs) to the ....
..hard-drive of your computer, convert them and then load them to your iPod?

4. there's a lot of things that could be happening. but let me see...
first, do you use iTunes? if not, i suggest you do, it's a great program, simplifies so much.

second, can you not burn the downloaded album (and let's be consistent in callling it album, to clear up any confusion) onto CD, as an audio CD (not just data storage format)? if so (and you should be able to), do so, and then just try to import 'audio CD' with iTunes. just open up iTunes, plop in the 'audio CD', and hit import when option becomes available. (before then, i'd go to iTunes options (cntrl+ on XP) and check the encoding format. put it to the one you like and then import. but this is unnecessary, and if you want it easier you can just leave it to the default settings). it should import into iTunes and from there be imminently transferable into your iPod as a playable sound file.

at the end of this you'll have your album in WMA format, on an audio CD, on your iTunes (in whatever format), and on your iPod. this is probably the simplest way i'd go about doing this. less finagling and tinkering and downloading of programs and patches.
