Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 05:08 PM by JanMichael
Not the car but the people who drive them!

How many Bush/Satan stickers have you seen on an Outback? Zip for me BUT I've seen plenty of Sierra Club and other pro-environment and progessive bumper stickers. Plenty of kayaks too.

What are your picks?

Maybe the Honda Hybrid?

VW Beetle (I think it's been yuppified)?

PS~ Inspired by the fascist car thread here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=228635

2. Here my list (by observation):
Subaru Legacy
Subaru Outback
Toyota Pirus
Toyota Corrolla
Honda Civic Coupe

On a side note, I saw an older Subaru Wagon (1990 or so) with a
bumper sticker that said: "Real Americans Buy American"

How funny/stupid is that???

"S.U.V: SATAN'S USAMA VEHICLE"

:kick:

4. Heh.
We're on our second Outback wagon (the first one got crunched by a Volvo wagon) with

  • FANG 2 license plate (it's white)
  • Dean for President bumper sticker
  • Kill your Television bumper sticker
  • "The media are only as liberal as the conservative businesses that own them" bumper sticker

People just swear by them! It's our first and I suspect not the last.

So far I love the thing.

5. SATURNS!
Saturns are economically efficient (if there IS such a thing with today's cars).

My wife LOVES hers and (hopefully) it will run forever

10. HONDA INSIGHT
Like mine!!!

But, some people buy hybrids for more practical or more "I hate OPEC" reasons too.

Any other Insight or other Hybrid drivers here? We also have a hybrid Civic. They both rock!

17. subaru is good, but pricey.
Harder for the less affluent liberals. My mom has the little economy model. I love it. She got it used, and it's been great.

Any hybrid.

I used to think Honda, buy my son's civic has had many problems. I want reliability and to spend my scarce resources elsewhere.

And definitely toyota....any car with decent mileage that will go 200 -300K on minimal maintenance/repair is a good use of resources. I get to actually go a decade in between car payments.

20. Yup.
My yoda pickup is a 94. Named "Homer," 'cause it always gets me home. Just turned 200,000 and still running as well as ever. I replaced the clutch for the first time this summer. I take it 2000 miles round trip a couple of times a year to visit my mom.

The previous incarnation, a 79 toyota pu, did 350,000 before my youngest ran it into a wall and bent the frame. So his uncle took the engine out and is still using it to run equipment at his boatyard. That was about 5 years ago.
