What would it take to get you to be a republican?

If someone came up to you and said, "Hey, I am willing to do whatever it takes to get you to join the republican party and start voting republican" what would it take for them to do or give you?

Loads of money?

Loads of unconditional sex?

Would you have to be under serious physical threat?

Or is there nothing that could do it?

Democratic party is.

For starters.

Republicanism requires the depletion or deactivation of large masses of brain tissue. That only severs some connections.

This thread convinces me: if people like regular everyday passionate Dems were in charge of the party, we'd NEVER lose an election. We'd have those voting issues KICKED, too.

I don't know if I could have handled being in the Democratic party back when a faction of it was denying civil rights to African-Americans

and then work to undermine the party from within. Telling the idiot I'd vote Republican isn't legally binding. If we can successfully overthrow/overhaul computer voting, my vote will be both confidential and counted and I'll vote as I damn well see fit.

Or if I were free to think, speak, and vote any way I wished, and if it was a lot of money, sex, and other good things I was getting for registering with them, then I'd do it, in spite of my revulsion at the thought of it.

if the Democrats were stupid enough to put up Zell Miller as a Presidential candidate.

Or if, when all the good Republicans get raptured, the Green Party decides to take their name (since the repukes won't be needing it anymore), becoming the other mainstream party.

which i would actively use to destroy everything they've worked so hard for. especially their party :D I'd have the Family Values Fascist Brigade goosestepping to Barney 'n Friends and countering every complaint of their ridiculous platform with "You don't hate *children* do you!?!?!?"

i'd think of buying off the town councilship and mayor of lubbock texas, change their local laws, especially about obscenity, and then build a 500' brass statue of the goddess Kali fornicating with her dead husband Shiva in the privately held land right off the main drag (preferrably next to the most conservative church i can find). at the grounds around the statue would be condoms/dental dams/rubber gloves dispensors, $0.05 a pop.

i'd try to encourage New Orleans to be built on stilts or made floatable, at least the french quarter part. so just in case a nasty flood comes down we don't lose the Big Easy.

oh, and i'd finally start restaurant franchises with my friends like, Dictator Taco and Happy Vat o' Oil.

(how do obscenely wealthy people hoard all that money and not wildly spend it as if it was going out of style? i couldn't help myself if i had so much money.)
