almost every recording engineer I've worked with has tended towards the geeky side. I do a bit of it myself on occassion and I'm a pretty geeky myself. Now it all makes sense!

ON EDIT: I can't believe I missed the guy on the left's "Sunn" t-shirt. I almost forgot that you must wear clothing that sports a brand name of your equipment to be a recording engineer. This especially makes sense, since Sunn doesn't make anything sexy, like guitars-- they make power amplifiers and mixing boards.
