I am really worried about my future right now.

I fear that I may never get out of the rut that I am in. I would just like to get a job that is decent that I am capable of doing. I would like to get one in politics behind the scenes. But I have just been so out of sorts for the last two years. I used to have insecurities, but they have completely taken over. I just don't know if I would ever be able to get a job that isn't any better than shit. I know that I complain a lot and I am sorry. But I really feel shitty right now.

It's possible they could help you get moving in the direction you'd like to go, and help you re-build your self-confidence, too.

It might help me find a way to get a political job. But I don't know whether or not the cost money. Furthermore, there is the matter of availability.

I don't know what sort of financial resoures would be available to you, but I do know that there are grants available from most states for job re-training, etc., usually through a comunity college or state university. I know that most programs have very flexible hours, because they're frequently dealing with adults who are already working, have kids, etc. . You might check with your local community college; I'm sure they could give you better info.

You can volunteer for a local charity. I did, there's nothing more rewarding and beneficial for the soul than helping others who are less well off than yourself. If you only do this one thing, trust me, everything else will fall into place like jigsaw pieces. Trust me on this.

But it's not all you (don't take that wrong, it really isn't you at all!). The whole economy is being restructured to have anything worth a damn overseas, with mostly retail shit over here. People being reduced to walking, talking, breathing commodities. And that's no way to create a prosperous economy OR a happy population, how come * and his corporate budz don't figure out this obvious truth?

They don't want to create an economy that we would define as prosperous. Prosperous for the rich and for big business but not for the general population. They don't care about the happiness of the U.S. population as a whole. It is not about not knowing it is not even about giving up. It is because they don't care. They are evil people. Horrible, contemptable people that remind me of everybody I hated in High School. And now they are in charge.

There are so many in your situation right now. Outsourcing has left many providers bereft and unable to support those they care about.

I know you weren't asking for advice, but I can't help it... look into nursing. You can start as an LVN then work while getting an RN or some other advanced healthcare degree... there are plenty of jobs and it's a rewarding, if challenging, field.

BTW what was your bachelors in? Didn't you say you had started a grad program in something related to math (I remember you talking about a advanced linear algebra course or something like that)?

I must say that life does go on.
I used to goto job service places and the person there would ask a stupid question like "what kind of job do you want?" I finally came up with the answer "I want a job where I get to beat the crap out of people who think 'what kind of job do you want?' is a relevant question. None of those available? Well, why don't you tell me what kinds of jobs I can get and I will choose the lesser of evils."
If nothing else, try to find a job where you can listen to tune, because when you are jamming to the music, the work does not matter all that much.

How old are you?

I am a college graduate, graduated 4 years ago. Some people think that I have a good job, but my abilities have much advanced past the scope of the job, I make under $30,000 per year (at this rate it will be a few more years before I make more than that), and my workplace isn't a very good place to work for a variety of reasons.
This past year, I have been trying to get a better job. I almost succeeded once, but that was the only better job both ability wise and pay wise that I got a real face to face interview for, as opposed to just a phone interview. I've come to think that it is difficult to get a good job unless you know people who are in the position to hire you for your field. Other than that, it is luck. There are enough people who do know someone in the position to hire them or out of work professionals who are interviewing for jobs equal to or slightly below their previous jobs that the rest of us have about the same chance of winning the pick 4 lottery for any given job.
For politics though, I'd recommend getting in touch with the local party or any other cause that interests you. They usually are happy to take volunteers. Perhaps, they can help you get a paid position later.
