Poll question: I'm riddled with indecision... I need help
OK, it's not a major life decision or anything. It's about shelves. I need storage - I've got books, cd's and videos up to my ying yang. (Whatever that is.)
I live in a small apartment with hardwood floors. The walls are kind of an indescribable colour. A purplely brownish taupe. I did not chose the colour and I'm not painting. I have a mixture of wood colours already - nothing I'm in love with.
I've ruled out anything that looks too country - I don't want to go there.
I like dark wood - a black/brown. It might make the room look smaller. It would also introduce yet another wood colour.
I have one piece (that will be next to the shelves) that is antique white. Shelves that colour would unify the room somewhat. White also takes up less space. But do I want to go further down the white road.
4. Dark shelves, then unify with light CD/ video boxes
or folders. You could get a slew of matching light or white storage shoeboxes for the videos, then organize the CDs in light or white photo albums, with CD organizer inserts. You'll get more storage space that way, too.
