What about a fat acceptance group?

The mission statement could be something to the effect:

This group exists to support people of size and they navigate an increasingly hostile world. We will discuss issues of fat acceptance and offer support for those times when as a person of size we face discrimination. Fat jokes and disparaging remarks about fat people will not be tolerated.

Diets and healthy living are not discouraged but it is my hope that through this group fat people can begin to accept themselves as they are and not try to mold themselves to what society says they should be.

6. I have satellite TV. On G5, 3, there is a fundie channel. I tune in

every once in a while to see what hate the fundies are spewing. (Masochistic, I guess.) Anyway, that is the fattest bunch of white people that I have ever seen in my life.

Lately, I have been wondering. Do you think fat people turn to Fundamentalism because they feel rejected elsewhere? Do we need to work on self-esteem with these people? Do you think that they feel justified marginalizing the rest of the world because they feel marginalized?

Or do I have too much time on my hands to brood about sh*t like this?
