Poll question: Why doesn't my Mother realize I'm an adult?
Edited on Fri Dec-31-04 12:35 AM by Radical Activist
I'm spending a little extra time back home for the holidays to help out my Mom with something and enjoying being treated like I'm a teenager again. I'm in my late 20's.

If you can't vent your frustrations on the internet then what else did Gore invent it for?

1. That's what it's the internets are for.
Even if you do still look 19, that's not so big a deal.

I was confused for a 14-year-old, despite my not being that age for some seven years now. :)

5. This was before I found out I was on the no-fly list.
The guy at the ticket counter at the airport asked me how old I was when I tried to get my boarding pass.

He guessed 14. :)

7. That's one way to put it.
The other way to put it is that my younger brother, four years to the day younger, is four inches and sixty pounds heavier than me, and that probably had some bearing on the estimate.

15. Hah yeah you are but still
Yer brother is skinny too, if hes 4 inches and 40 pounds+, because that means hes 2-3 inches bigger than me but 60 pounds less than again I am kinda big.

8. I cannot relate at ALL to your story...
My mom's a DUer and she'd never treat me like a child.

If she's reading this...
Yes, ma - I KNOW it's late, I am going to bed soon, I swear. See, I am not acting like a tramp!

11. I dunno.
 We just can't have mom learning the specifics on the colorful life her youngest child leads. Least of all on the internets.

Edited on Fri Dec-31-04 12:49 AM by Contrary1
they hate to admit their kids are all grown up, and it
makes her feel better to think of you as still in need
of a bit of mothering. Just let her.

(I know this cos I are one.)

***edited to add even more motherly advice
