what are your New Year Eve plans?
my partner has 1/2 day of work, I'm off -- she's going to do the grocery shopping after work. I'm cleaning house and running a few in-town errands

tonight - we are just going to be slugs and watch tv -- don't know if we'll stay awake until midnight -- past couple of years we've conked out early

aren't we the party people? lol

1. I have a party to go to
My bedtime is normally 7-8 at night, so staying up 'till midnight is going to be a real challenge for me. I would rather stay home and go to bed, but my friends are insisting that I attend their party, even offering me a bed in case I want to snooze before the hour strikes midnight.

in bed WAY before the "big moment" strikes.
New Year's Eve is for amateurs. We Pro's don't mess with it.

16. Supernova - Party of one
Edited on Fri Dec-31-04 09:41 AM by supernova
Morning and early afternoon - cleaning. It's so warm here (65) that I'll probably take a walk in the park to enjoy the sunshine too.

Late afternoon - go to a special champagne tasting. I've been to wine tastings before but never just for champagne. I'll buy a bottle of whatever I like best.

This evening. Veg in front of the TV. Watch the ball drop and have my champagne. And probably posting on DU too. :hi:

Tomorrow morning. Watch the rose parade and have mimosas with the rest of the champagne.

17. This morning, I'm going grocery shopping with my daughter.
My husband will stay home with my son.

When I get back, we're going to start our film festival! We got a bunch of new DVDs for Christmas (Twilight Zone collections, Star Wars trilogy, several SNL Best Of collections, and a few movies).

I plan to make all of our traditional NYE appetizers and finger foods: cocktail meatballs in the crockpot, chili cheese pie, potato chips and French onion dip, Chex Mix, smoked salmon with cream cheese on crackers, and the cookies and fudge leftover from Christmas.

We'll watch DVDs and play board games, and we plan to watch the ball drop on TV.

Somebody will have to run out this afternoon and pick up my other daughter at the airport too.

18. My sister and dad are throwing me a surprise party.
And I'm making the birthday cake. Ain't that a crock? I don't know what they're planning but I'm supposed to be very surprised.

Dad lives in assisted living and my sister is flying in from Vegas this morning.

19. Married 19 years and...
this will be the first time we've ever went out for New Year's Eve. Our daughters birthday is New Year's Eve and we've always been the 'drop off' for everyone else's kids, because she always had sleepovers. WELL, tonight it's the Jennie De Voe concert and we can't wait!! YIPPEEEEEEE

21. A cloistered evening
I think I'll hire a couple films for a veg-out evening, then hit the sack before the bewitching hour.

Hitting a pub for New Years no longer has the attraction it did. I've always been a notorious light drinker. But now days, after one beer, my taste for it is gone. Plus, I've grown intolerant of smoke, which it seems everyone partakes now. Though I do miss snogging with women strange to me.

22. Working...
There will be about 350 people coming for the annual NYE party ( I work in the food industry at a private club). Have to be there at 10 this AM for my regular shift and then be there to make sure that everything goes well for the dinner dance tonight.

24. We're going to hang out at home
Not worth it to us to fork over as much as it would cost to get a babysitter. We'll watch tv or maybe a movie or something, and probably fall asleep well before midnight :D
