I just got into law school with a 75% scholarship. Give me a hug.

That just made my day. My year, actually. *sigh.* Between this and getting engaged a month ago have been a couple of the highlights to a lame political year. Going to make the new year much brighter. Love you guys, Happy New Year!

but the first year of law school is a bit like getting beaten with sticks while someone rams an alligator up your ass.

After that, it's manageable, but that first year...hoo.

I'm not sure how out in front of things you should get. You will be taking Con law and Property right out of the gate, and the latter is monstrously confusing. Might want to save any personal forays until you have a professor to guide you, so you don't pre-emptively confuse yourself.

are more specifically "what to expect your first year and how to overcome it" books, not really any sort of specific course studies.

One thing I have on my side is the amount of reading I do anyway. I spoke with a current student who's first question was "are you a reader?" I read voraciously, I think that will help me, at least a little. Don't worry, not going to get too far ahead of myself (although it is tempting).

12. Yes! That is what I am worried about.

I have to stay in the top 30% to keep it, but it is guaranteed for one year at least. I was talking to a friend who has a 50% one, and he only knows a handful of others at that school that have them, but about half are poised to lose them. Gonna be an interesting year!

is probably not going to happen till 2006, we now have to figure out how to split the $$ between school and that (I will not be working for at least the 1st semester, so money will be tight). She is a wonderful woman who I think will understand that although she is my first priority, school has to take up most of my time for awhile....
