Today, I helped a Bush supporter. What the hell was I thinking?!
Earlier today, I was in a supermarket parking lot. The car next to which I parked had the following bumper stickers: BUSH/CHENEY '04 and ABORTION IS HOMICIDE. My initial disgust, however, quickly turned to vindictive glee when I noticed that the car had a flat tire.

"Good," I thought. "Think about how much you love Georgie Boy and rice-grain-sized fetuses as you change your flat, jerk-off."

A little while later, as I was putting my groceries in my car, I saw a slow-moving, frail-looking elderly woman whose every step seemed labored as she pushed her shopping cart across the lot. I felt badly for her, and that feeling only increased when she approached the car with the flat tire. The old woman unlocked her trunk and struggled to put her groceries inside.

I said, "Excuse me, ma'am? You know you've got a flat tire?"

She looked up at me. "What? Where?"

I pointed it out to her.

She groaned. "Oh, no. I knew I shouldn't have gone out this soon after my surgery."

That clinched it for me. "Do you have a spare?"

She answered yes, at which point I volunteered to change the old woman's tire. For a Bush-loving Republican, she was anything but stingy with her expressions of gratitude.

Normally, I'd have felt good about having helped another human being, but I keep thinking about those goddamned bumper stickers. I almost feel guilty about having changed that old woman's tire! A strong part of me says that I could've just gone on my way and left her to solve the problem herself. After all, don't the Bushites believe in pulling yourself up by your bootstraps? Would a Republican my age have done the same thing for an old woman whose bumper sticker said, IF YOU CAN'T TRUST ME WITH A CHOICE, HOW CAN YOU TRUST ME WITH A CHILD?

Congratulations, Mr. Bush. You've polarized our country so badly, I now feel guilty about having helped an old woman with a flat tire because she supports you. I hope you're proud of yourself!

3. Just think about this....
Would Bush have helped her out? I think not. The important thing is that you helped a woman in need. Good deeds are not political.

Maybe she borrowed it from an obnoxious son. Benefit of doubt.

What if she had driven off with that flat tire and caused an accident?

You may have prevented the suffering and/or death of someones child.

12. But you have just demonstrated what makes us different from them.
You helped an elderly woman who, in her own way, has done us all a great harm, supporting bush**. But you looked beyond that to her age and helplessness. You did the kind and right thing. You helped an old lady. A brain dead wretched old woman without one single ounce of political sense who isn't smart enough to realize that bush** would rather starve old creatures like her off the face of the earth. Or let them croak from lack of medication. But hey, she's buying groceries and driving a car, so life is good for her.

You did a kindhearted, human thing. A Freeper would've told the same woman, with a Kerry/Edwards sticker to go fuck herself. That's the difference.

Good on you. May karma be (almost) instant for you.
