It's quieting down.

0:30 and the streets are littered, the air fogged with choking smoke and the trains are running. I managed to be underground when the clock struck and greeted the New Year completely alone on the Straßenbahn.

Alles Bestens in 2005 to everyone on DU!!!

3. Really, I missed NOTHING

but lots of NOISE, to which I react badly, and TONS of SMOKE, to which I also react badly, 'specially my skin...

My son's girlfriend just rang the bell. Never mind I've told them both that they should "fraternize" SOMEWHERE ELSE as this flat is very small and it makes me uncomfortable...

I barged in to wish HER a Happy New Year and again to retrieve the telephone.

Should I do so again to declare 2005 a NEW ERA in which I will not allow my sensibilities to be offended in my own home? :shrug:

I HATE "SCENES" and don't want to make one.
