6. Yeah
I have been getting cds from my friends and importing the songs. I have enough songs for 4 or 5 days of music so I am set for that.

2. A method to play it in your car.

I have the cassette adapter. They also have FM modulators.

Edit - buy a good hard case. The case that Apple sells is shit. Look for a case that allows access to the top and bottom ports as well as the scroll wheel.

7. I did get a case
I think it is a good one. And I can hook it to a lanyard or key chain. I would love to get an iTrip but they are $40, and I do not want to spend that much. I am going to go to the Car audio store and see how much it is to have a dock hard wired to my radio, since I have 2 extra inputs.

9. I hear ya! I use the cassette adapter.
First time I've used the cassette player in my car in YEARS!

Next car I get, I'm putting in a car stereo with a firewire input jack, or a hardwired dock.

11. Yeah
I bought a new Kenwood system to put in my car last year... so I have no Cassette player. But I think it will cost my 20-30 dollars to get it hard wired. I am also keeping an eye open on ebay for a cheap iTrip.

3. A Charging Stand,
and a case. Those are really the only ones you'll ever need.

4. The AppleCare extended service
...just in case.

The little FM modulator thing is pretty sweet, too, so you can listen in the car... or a cassette adapter...

5. It depends on what you want.
The portable speakers are pretty cool. I mean the docking station types. Yo umight want to get your own headphones. The car charger could be useful. So can the belt clip.

12. Exactly! And my understanding is that they can not be replaced.
You have to send the unit in for refurbishing, which costs about $250.00 (for a battery!) Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

14. Yes, they can be replaced
Check out some Mac forums (DU, MacFixit, etc.) and ask around. Someone should be able to tell you where to buy a new battery and how to install it.

13. Did you run the battery all the way down
before you recharged it? I have heard if you do, they are supposed to last years longer.
