I wish my cat was fat.
She's only 9lbs. She's minuscule.

I like big cats.

1. It warms the cocklettes of my heart
to see "minuscule" spelled correctly. You get a gold star.

2. I've got one huge cat and one tiny cat. Oddly enough,
The tiny one was supposed to get to about 25 lbs (pixie-bob breed). The huge one I have is just fat :-)

That's the breaks I guess.

9. no you don't
One of mine is 9 lbs but the other is around 17--with some effort he's lost a little weight. Poor thing, the heavy one eats next to nothing (I know because I weighed his intake and he eats less than the 9 pounder) and I give him no treats or food he should not have. The problem is he likes nothing more than sleeping and cuddling. He has many health risks that are exacerbated by the weight. We have tried all sorts of interventions but the vet says just as some people have slow metabolism, so do some cats. When it warms up outside, I'll try to get him to move around with me.

You could adopt an adult cat. Just make sure it's full-figured, the way you like them.

I'd hate to have to introduce another cat to her at this point. I'd rather she just age peacefully. :)

17. 9 pounds?!? Try 6 1/2 pounds...
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 08:38 PM by RadFemFL
My cat went from 10 pounds to 5.7 pounds because of hyperthyroidism. She's up to 6 1/2, but I would be thrilled if she would get up to at least 7!

My other cat is almost 12 pounds, long and lanky.

Little black momma cat and long, lanky gray son cat... Nightmare and Smoke.

EDIT: added photo

18. I have one @ 6 lbs, and a couple over 20 lbs, and..........
while it is nice to have a big one sometimes, the little one (their mom)is so much nicer to have sit on you for any length of time. (I have 17 lbs Porkchop sleaping on my lap now- but he is medum sized.)

The big ones (Buster, Wally and Coco) are all mid 20's or above, but NOT fat. No idea how they stay in such great shape as all they do is sleep. Buster is the biggest. He likes to sleap on your pillow at night, where he curls up around your head, touching each shoulder. I need some photos to show how big he is.

26. No, you don't.
I have a fat one right here, and the vet always yells at me when I take Carmel in for a check-up. He is extremely cute, but he would be even cuter if he would lose some weight. I put diet food out for him, but he refuses to eat eat, even when mixed in with regular food.

33. Next time, get a Bombay
...I have one, Miss Patty, and she eats anything and everything! None of this finicky turn your nose up cattitude from her! They're naturally chubby, and lush with thick black fur.

But you gotta pay them a lot of attention and play with them at least 3 times a day. And they're lap barnacles, totally affectionate.

Personally, I love it!

Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 08:18 PM by gollygee
I think she's about the same weight. My baby weighed more when she was born then this cat has ever weighed.

I'd have to do a profile for you to see how skinny she is, but . . .
