I loathe dishonest advertising
which means I loathe most advertising. So it distresses me to see an ad popping up from DU that claims I've been "selected" to participate in a test that could earn me "mega" bucks. I wasn't selected, for chrissakes, and I'm not sucker enough to think any company that advertizes on DU (gods bless it!) has mega bucks to pay me for testing their product. Sheesh! :eyes:

5. Not in of itself, said the known hypnosocialist...
Advertising is okay - it incites awareness.

But misused advertising is evil. And it is predominant in the M$M and in America's culture (of life!).

8. Somewhere advertising got way out of whack in America.
There's always been false advertizing and snake oil selling, but at some point, it became a fundamental fact of American business that millions had to be spent on pulling the wool over people's eyes to sell a product or service.

9. True
I'm thinking of the ubiquitous examples of misused advertising, of course. I like the funny ads. :)

3. I know about Firefox.
I tried it. I don't know why, but it made everything very slow. I was unable to access certain programs, like the Web-based Outlook e-mail program my company got suckered into using, and I even had problems logging into DU with it.

4. Google Toolbar with Popup Blocker
it's nice cause not only does it block popups but you can enter in a google search without going to the page first.

10. Here is what it really says in those 'dishonest' ads...

Obey - Consume - Marry and reproduce - Sleep - Watch TV
(at least according to Roddy Piper)

But then a lot of them are also secretly saying, "Be an idiot! Buy this worthless piece of shit product!"
