The original 1970 Jodie Foster classic is admittedly cool and kitschy.
But they had to make it into a tv movie in 1995.
Now they're making an updated theatrical in 2003.
Why?
The original is fun, if not dated - which doesn't bother me because the early 70s were cool. Given how very few remakes ever do the original justice or become anything even remotely like classics themselves, I see this effort as being utterly pointless.
I also gather they're doing another Get Smart movie. (Which had better be a continuation of the 1995 TV show which series' lead Andy Dick ditched in order to join NewsRadio, or else I won't see it.)
